Best lesson from a Disney movie

This is an underrated movie

This is a grossly underrated movie.

Can I take a minute to rant? Good. Cuz I’m gonna.

I FLOVE this movie. And I HATE all the stupid hatred it gets. For a long time the buzz was “finally a black princess yay!” and now everyone is like “Fuck this movie, first black princess and she spends the whole movie a frog.”

You know what? Fuck that. Because Ariel spent a good majority of the movie not talking. Mulan spent the majority of the move pretending to be a man. Aurora and Snow White? Asleep (Hardly in the movie at all). They’re all just plot devices, not designed to take away from the traits of the women.

And you know what else? Unlike some of the other princesses, Tiana is in control of her destiny every step of the way. When she turns into the frog does she lose hope and need rescuing? Hell naw. She busts Naveen over the head and gets the job done. She is consistently responsible and capable even after having her dreams crushed and turning into a freaking frog.

So don’t tell me that Tiana is “less than” just because she gets turned into a frog. She’s still one of the most hardworking, badass, and capable chicks in animated history and I love her like crazy cakes.

the end.

Also? She’s based on a real person. A real woman who is 91 and is still cooking in her kitchen. She’s still widely respected in the culinary community, she’s fed presidents, she’s had songs written about her and her restaurants. She’s 91, and she still wakes up every morning to run things, because she still believes in hard work and good food. And if you don’t think that’s truly fantastic, then you can just fuck right off.

Oh hey look, a 12 year-old just grasped the main concepts of The Hunger Games more accurately than most media networks.

In The Heat of the Day Sneak Peak

Drake changed into the short-sleeve tee, and tried on the bracelets Sophia gave him. Of course they would be to skinny. Drake sighed. Not covering his wrist was not an option. He pulled on his hoodie and walked onto the field to see what gym awaited.

"Alright boys," the coach started. "I want you to jog 2 laps. Run 2. Walk 1." The boys nodded. The coach blew his whistle.

Drake started off strong. He jogged 1 lap. As he started jogging the second lap he got a mild headache, but he didn’t think anything of it. When he starting running his first lap is when he ran into complications.

Drake got a really bad stomach cramp but he just thought it was because he ate just before running. He slowed down a little hoping that the cramp would go away. It did not.

As he was reaching the end of lap 1, dizziness hit him hard. He couldn’t tell which way was up or down. It felt as though he had just ridden 10 roller coasters back to back. He started making his way to a bench; at least what he thought was a bench. Coach Green didn’t notice the poor fellow; he was talking to another Coach.

What Drake thought was a bench turned out to be another student. “Hey, watch where you’re going Williams.” The person said.

Drake was about to apologize when he realized he couldn’t. His breathe was really shallow and he couldn’t catch it. “Hey man you okay?” The same person asked. “Do you have asthma or something?”

Drake was going to shake his head, but his headache got worst. His brain felt as though it was being pounded by a mallet. He fell to his knees and blackness overcame him.

This is Drake William’s self-harm story. It’s one of my favorite stories I have ever written and it would mean a lot if you would go and read it.

:) Thanks. ~Lauran

I just wrote a story on Wattpad and it would mean a lot to me if you guys would read it, and repost this message. Thanks in advance :)
